Condition
On the original stretcher, with the old nailing. With minimal craquelure in the colour red in places and with a small loss of colour at the upper right edge of the image. Traces of attachment to the easel in the corners. In a frame selected by the artist. In very good condition and fresh in colour
Comments
In this work, Cuno Amiet depicts the hilly landscape of the Emmental with its typical hamlets and farmhouses. He probably painted this work during an outing in the countryside, which explains the marks left by the the easel in the four corners of the work. The red discolouration of the leaves on the trees suggests an autumnal landscape.

Auf dem originalen Chassis, in der alten Nagelung. Stellenweise mit minimen Krakelüren in der Farbe Rot und mit einem kleinen Farbverlust oben rechts am Bildrand. In den Ecken mit Spuren von der Befestigung auf der Malstaffelei. In einem vom Künstler ausgewählten Rahmen. In sehr guter und farbfrischer Erhaltung
Erläuterungen
Cuno Amiet zeigt in diesem Werk die hügelige Landschaft des Emmentals mit den typischen Weilern und Bauernhäusern. Er malte dieses Gemälde wohl während eines Ausfluges draussen in der Natur, was die Befestigungsspuren der Malstaffelei in den vier Ecken des Werks erklärt. Die rote Verfärbung der Blätter der Bäume deutet auf eine Herbstlandschaft hin.
