Biography
Eero Saarinen was a Finnish architect and industrial designer known for his innovative designs for buildings and monuments. His work in architecture and industrial design often featured materials like polished bronze and enameled aluminum. One of his notable works is the "Custom Tulip table from the bar of the Grill Room", which sold for $45,000. Born in 1910 in Hvitträsk, Finland, he passed away in 1961 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. Saarinen was based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, United States and was awarded the American Institute of Architects gold medal. He was influenced by his father Eliel Saarinen and had notable peers such as Charles, Ray Eames, and Florence Knoll. Saarinen studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris and the Yale School of Architecture in New Haven.
