Lynn Paula Russell is a British artist and actress best known for her erotic illustrations and roles in pornographic films under the pseudonym Paula Meadows. Russell’s drawings often depict fetish themes like spanking and bondage, though her early illustrations and paintings were for children’s books and theater performances. In her depictions of the female body, which are realistic, she has also created “bodyscapes” wherein the female form takes on elements of natural landscapes, most notably mountains. Born on June 27, 1949 in Whitstable, United Kingdom, she attended the Canterbury College of Art and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before starring in theater and television roles during the 1970s. In 1980, the artist acted in her first adult film. Russell has illustrated her own books and those by other authors, including Richard Burton’s The Essential Kama Sutra (2003). She lives and works in the United Kingdom.
